What will you learn?
You learn to read plans, set out and level a site, operate plant and machinery, and carry out the trade tasks for a specialist area such as pipe laying, road construction, bituminous surfacing, bridge work or traffic management. It suits people already on the tools who want a recognised qualification, and it also gives a practical entry point for someone starting out who is willing to learn on the job. Along the way you build the safety, communication and teamwork habits that let you take some responsibility for a crew and give advice to others on site.
