What will you learn?

You learn to run and monitor plant equipment such as conveyors, crushers and screens, take samples and run tests to check the product is on spec, and keep the circuit stable through the shift. The work also covers handling hazardous materials, controlling spills and dust, isolating equipment safely for maintenance, and responding when something goes wrong. Employers expect operators to make judgement calls on the job, so the training builds the confidence to choose the right equipment or contingency measure rather than waiting for instructions. Licensing and site certification vary between states, territories and sectors, so check what your jurisdiction requires before you enrol.
