What will you learn?
You learn to use computer aided drafting software to draw houses and small structures such as sheds, carports and decks, and to apply construction methods, materials and the planning and building rules that apply to them. Compliance with the National Construction Code runs through the study, because the drawings you produce have to pass council and certifier checks. It suits someone who wants a drafting role in a design office without yet working as a designer in their own right, and licensing rules for building design differ between states and territories, so it is worth checking your local regulator.
