Entry recommendations
To be prepared for this course, it helps to have:
- an interest in leading and supporting others
- a careful approach to safety and risk
- confidence to coordinate staff and volunteers
- an interest in the business side of sport
What will you learn?
Study centres on the management side of sport: leading and supervising staff and volunteers, keeping people safe, and working through the business risks that come with running a club or program. It suits someone already involved with a community club or sporting organisation who is ready to step into a coordinating or development role, and it can be done while working or volunteering. Sport-specific coaching accreditation is separate, and you would check the requirements with the relevant national sporting organisation for your sport.

- Workplace health and safety
- Managing business risk
- Supervising staff and volunteers
- Coordinating sport programs
Units of competency (3 core, 11 elective)
