- good concentration for long stretches of speech
What will you learn?
You learn to work in both dialogue and monologue settings, including over the phone and by video, and to sight translate written material on the spot. Much of the study goes into retaining and recalling long stretches of speech accurately, building terminology across fields such as health, law, government and commerce, and applying professional codes when you have to make a judgement call. It suits people who already speak two languages fluently and want to work in community, business or diplomatic settings where there is little room to correct a mistake afterwards.
