- a calm attitude when something unexpected happens
- good communication skills for answering questions
- a practical approach to checking and maintaining equipment
What will you learn?
You learn to identify hazards and control risks, maintain activity equipment, deliver quality service to customers and respond when something goes wrong, such as an injury or an emergency. Specialisations are available if you want to aim at a particular job, including pool lifeguard, swim teacher, customer service officer or recreation officer, though they aren't compulsory. Graduates go on to work in commercial, community, not-for-profit and government sport and recreation organisations.
