Vocational competence is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

Entry recommendations
To be prepared for this course, it helps to have:
- a solid grounding in the trade or profession you want to teach
- confidence speaking in front of a group of learners
- patience for people who learn at different speeds
- an interest in judging evidence fairly against a standard
What will you learn?
You learn how to plan a course of study, run training sessions that suit different learners, and judge whether someone has actually met the standard, all within the rules that registered training organisations must follow. It suits people who already know their trade or profession well and now want to pass that knowledge on, so you will need real industry experience in the area you intend to teach before you enrol.
