To be prepared for this course, it helps to have:

  • care with manual handling and load shifting
  • a willingness to follow set safety procedures
  • good judgement when delays or equipment choices come up

What will you learn?

You learn to shift and store materials using safe manual handling methods, and to meet the safety duties that apply to transport activities under Chain of Responsibility rules. Much of the work follows known procedures, but you also make judgement calls about equipment, services and how to handle delays within set timeframes. Some roles involve coordinating the work of others, and you can specialise in logistics, warehousing or furniture removals.
